Mag. Dr. Silvana Weiss

Silvana Weiss has been a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Human Resource Management of the University of Graz since 2014. She holds a PhD in sociology and has gained experience in different research projects; for example, the EU project ‘STYLE – Strategic Transitions for Youth Labour in Europe’ or the project ‘LAMIRA – Labour Market Integration of Refugees in Austria’. She had already worked at several other research institutes (e.g. Copenhagen Business School, ETH Zurich) and, outside academia, as a psychologist. During her preceding studies of psychology at the University of Graz she spent one exchange semester at the Università degli Studi di Padova.

Her research interests include inequalities in labour market integration (e.g. considering youth, migrants, or refugees), gender studies, academic careers as well as work–life balance and boundary management between professional and private life spheres.
