Short Curriculum Vitae
Christian Hirt currently holds the position of a senior lecturer at the Institute of Human Resource Management, University of Graz, Austria. He graduated from the same university with a PhD (Doctor of Social Sciences and Economics) and his dissertation dealt with trends of change in Japanese personnel management. He has work experience as executive assistant and office manager, shareholder in a business start-up and food export with main focus on Japan. Furthermore he was working as a coordinator for International Relations within the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme in Japan. He was also employed as an assistant professor at the Institute of International Management, University of Graz. Additionally Mr.Hirt managed the coordination and collaboration in several international projects, was a trainer for cross-cultural cooperation and communication in the private sector and academic advisor for incoming students at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences. He was also member of the advisory board for international relations at the University of Graz.
He gives lectures on general management, HRM, cross-cultural management, management of complex systems and globalization. His main research interests and publications focus on international human resource management and cross-cultural topics.
